Western Union engaged the Prism production team to create a number of content pieces to activate its Liverpool FC partnership over multiple seasons. As the club’s official money transfer partner, Western Union wished to highlight this positive perspective on life with heart-warming and shareable fan-centric content.
Liverpool FC is a club steeped in history with some of the most successful and best-loved ex-players of any top team. Prism devised a video content series that would aim to bring loyal Liverpool FC fans closer to their idols, building sincere brand sentiment and raising wide smiles of surprise. The stars of the show were Liverpool Legends in disguise Bruce Grobbelaar, John Barnes and Jason McAteer.
Directing the Legends through their humorous scripts, with the fans none the wiser, was a filming highlight, and the stars’ personalities shone through. But, it was the fans’ joy of surprise at meeting their idols that made the content so shareable, earning eight million views and 13 million fan engagements across Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.
